Job Description Position:

Mechanical Engineer Primary Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate clearly and effectively.
• Lead and support the full machine design process, ensuring all mechanical solutions meet required performance, safety, and reliability standards.
• Evaluate mechanical component capabilities and apply them appropriately to machine design specifications.
• Create design layouts, assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings with accuracy and clarity.
• Ensure all design work complies with applicable local, federal, or international engineering standards.
• Work hands‑on in the shop to assist or lead production staff during assembly, integration, and testing.
• Apply strong working knowledge of motors, servos, linear actuators, brakes, pneumatics, and related systems within machine design.
• Verify machine function according to specifications and operational requirements.
• Use measuring equipment to inspect components, validate tolerances, and confirm mechanical functionality.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs on machinery as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Document parts lists, engineering change orders, drawing revisions, and project files.
• Record design changes occurring on the shop floor and generate accurate "as‑built" assembly drawings.
• Maintain project schedules and manage tasks to meet deadlines.
• Set up, run, and debug machinery during start‑up and commissioning phases.
• Interface with customers and suppliers to ensure proper integration and functionality between equipment and external systems.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Utilize effective computer skills to support design and documentation activities. Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of mechanical engineering experience specifically supporting production equipment .
• Must have direct, hands‑on experience in machine design , including designing and developing new machinery based on customer specifications.
• Strong computer proficiency and ability to work within engineering design tools and software environments.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ormond Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
