Job Description

Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 0-5+ years of experience in Metal Fabrication, Machining, Welding, or related manufacturing industries.
  • Experience in pressure part design in accordance with ASME codes (Section B31.3/B31.1/Section VIII).
  • Expertise in structural/stress analysis through FEA and calculation (e.g., SolidWorks, MathCad, & Excel).
  • Proficiency with a CAD package, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings that include weld symbols and machining tolerances.
  • Strong familiarity with one or more of the following manufacturing processes: welding, sheet metal fabrication, structural steel fabrication, machining, metal forming, tool design.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good understanding of metallurgy and mechanics of materials and how they are affected by welding, thermal processing, corrosion, fatigue, etc. is important.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems and components, including application and analysis, is very desirable.
  • Must be well organized and able to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and respond quickly to customers.
  • Aggressive, self-directed, dynamic person with the ability to act decisively when presented with incomplete or ambiguous information, based on sound engineering judgment and business/commonsense. Responsibilities
  • Design pressure parts in accordance with ASME Section B31.3/B31.1/Section VIII.
  • Assist the Sales department in developing proposals.
  • Perform and/or assist in studies for economical/technical optimization of products.
  • Produce and review engineering drawings for accuracy.
  • Perform product failure analysis and work to prevent recurrence through manufacturing process improvement and engineering design.
  • Develop and/or improve manufacturing and engineering processes such as weld procedures and engineering workflow.
  • Interface with Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing departments.
  • Communicate daily with clients to resolve technical issues.
  • Development of internal engineering standards and compliance with external standards (e.
