Job Title:
Project EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our team, supporting the Everglades Restoration Program. This position involves handling submittals, requests for information, daily reports, and coordination between subcontractors. The Project Engineer will also provide support to the Project Manager and Superintendent, periodically updating job progress reports, submittal logs, and a four-week look-ahead schedule. The initial assignment will involve working on a large pump station project. Responsibilities- Receive, review, route, and track submittals through final disposition.
- Prepare, review, distribute, and maintain the status of RFIs.
- Support the project permitting process and required agency coordination.
- Track material deliveries and verify that materials meet project requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor scope, scheduling, performance, agreements, purchase orders, and payment documentation.
- Help resequence or re-coordinate work when needed to maintain the project schedule.
- Support compliance with small-business participation requirements.
- Develop a working knowledge of the prime contract, including company and owner obligations.
- Maintain clear communication with project leadership, field teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on civil or mechanical construction projects.
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, material take-off, blueprints/drawings, field inspections, and reading elevations.
- Proficiency in software such as P6, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with water/wastewater treatment plants or pump stations.
- Heavy civil construction experience involving grading, drainage, paving, bridges, retaining walls, underground utilities, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical scopes.
- Experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, water management districts, state, municipal, or other public-sector projects.
- Familiarity with software like e-Builder, eCMS, RMS, Procore, and Autodesk Revit.
