As a result, a full-time position is available for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer at our office location in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and provide technical guidance to mechanical project teams Attend client meetings, ensuring project objectives are met Oversee construction phase services with a focus on quality and efficiency Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and learning Contribute to business development efforts with innovative solutions Other tasks as assigned A valid driver's license and approximately 25% travel to military bases and airports as part of lead mechanical engineer role. The successful candidate must have all the following: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university At least 6 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering PE license in any state and have the ability to obtain in additional states as needed The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Expertise in many mechanical system types, such as hot water, chilled water, condenser water systems, VAV, Geothermal, VRF systems, DDC control systems Experience in sustainable design, steam systems, commissioning services, and plumbing systems Proven track record as lead mechanical engineer on projects Experience in designing mechanical systems for Federal Government projects Commitment to sustainable design and innovation Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors At Mead & Hunt we shape the future by putting people first.
