Job Description
Job Summary In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, analyzing, and refining mechanical components and systems that meet rigorous industry standards. Your expertise will help transform innovative ideas into reliable, high-performance products that support critical scientific and industrial applications. Header Duties Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards like ASME codes. Perform tolerance analysis and mechanical drafting to optimize product performance and manufacturability. Conduct mechanical modeling and simulations, including finite element analysis (FEA), to validate design integrity under operational conditions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including electrical engineers, manufacturing specialists, and project managers—to align design objectives with project timelines. Support manufacturing processes by creating schematics, mechanical detail drawings, and building information modeling (BIM) tools for efficient production workflows. Engage in root cause analysis for mechanical failures or issues during testing phases to implement effective corrective actions. Manage project schedules and milestones to ensure timely delivery of mechanical engineering product development projects. Header Skills Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and drafting tools for 3D modeling of products. Strong mechanical engineering knowledge with experience in machine design, tolerance analysis, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical detail drawings. Familiarity with engineering product development processes within industrial or manufacturing environments. Experience with simulation tools like FEA and software such as MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Arduino for testing and validation purposes. Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machining, and schematic creation for complex systems. Inventor experience a plus Ability to perform root cause analysis on mechanical issues using systematic problem-solving techniques. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate effectively across teams involved in engineering product development projects.
