Job Description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr Mechanical Engineer to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. Join Yamaha's Marine team and lead the development of next-generation Watercraft products! As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ideas from concept to production, solving complex engineering challenges that directly impact the quality, performance, and safety of our watercraft. You'll collaborate with cross-functional and international teams, mentor junior engineers, and have the opportunity to influence products that reach customers worldwide. What you'll be doing: Lead the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems, components, and full products. Collaborate with suppliers to turn designs into high-quality, manufacturable components. Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines from proof of concept through production. Coordinate lab and on-water testing and analyze results to inform design improvements. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and troubleshoot technical challenges. Mentor junior engineers and share best design practices. Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and emerging engineering techniques. Why you'll love working here:

What you need to be successful: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 15+ years of experience designing consumer or industrial products. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software). Strong communication skills for international collaboration. Hands-on experience with machining, casting, injection molding, or prototyping. 3D modeling experience (NX preferred), GD&T, FEA, and surfacing a plus. Willingness to travel internationally, including Japan, for collaboration and testing Don't meet every single requirement?
