This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to apply foundational mechanical engineering principles in real-world projects, supporting the development of advanced systems and products. The successful candidates will contribute to various stages of design, analysis, and manufacturing processes, gaining valuable experience in a collaborative environment dedicated to technological advancement and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in mechanical design development using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, creating detailed schematics and technical drawings. Support system design activities by applying principles of mechanical knowledge, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards. Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures or performance issues to identify underlying problems and recommend solutions. Participate in project scheduling to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks and deliverables. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using tools like MATLAB or Simulink to evaluate structural integrity and optimize designs. Contribute to manufacturing processes by understanding CNC machining, 3D printing, and assembly procedures. Assist with laboratory testing, data collection, and analysis using LabVIEW or similar data acquisition systems. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on system design projects involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, or quantum engineering concepts. Support documentation efforts including drafting technical reports, creating CAD models, and preparing technical schematics compliant with ASME codes & standards. Engage in continuous learning opportunities related to mechanical engineering innovations such as system modeling, FEA simulations, or advanced manufacturing techniques. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo for mechanical design and drafting. Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and material science. Familiarity with project scheduling tools and methodologies to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Experience or coursework involving root cause analysis techniques for troubleshooting mechanical issues We are looking to hire ASAP!
