Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Design Engineer, Operator Station for John Deere Ag Engineering- Modules located at Waterloo-PEC, you will:
- Lead the design, development, validation, and product support of Operator Station systems for the 1750 Cab platform across Row Crop, Heavy Draft, and Crop Care applications.
- Own operator-focused components and subsystems including cab structure, interiors, wipers, glass, storage solutions and provide integration support for seating, controls, displays, infotainment, visibility systems, lighting, HVAC, and operator comfort features.
- Translate customer and product requirements into robust engineering solutions that enhance operator comfort, visibility, ease of use, quality, and productivity.
- Drive execution of Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) deliverables, ensuring technical, quality, cost, timing, and risk objectives are achieved.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Management, Marketing, ISG, Vehicle Architecture, and global Operator Station teams.
- Coordinate design reviews, requirement management activities, DFMEA development, issue resolution, and verification and validation plans.
- Provide technical leadership for integration of emerging technologies including displays, cameras, connectivity, autonomy-enabling features, next-generation infotainment, and electrical architecture updates.
- Develop engineering specifications, test plans, design standards, and technical documentation to support platform reuse and portfolio consistency.
- Support global product launches and provide production support to manufacturing facilities during build, pilot, and launch activities. VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position ## What Skills You Need
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, requirements management, validation processes, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience working within a structured product development process such as EPDP or equivalent.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while delivering results on schedule.
- Strong analytical and root-cause investigation skills utilizing tools such as NCCA, Advance, DFMEA, 8D, fishbone analysis, or similar quality methodologies.
- Proficiency with CAD and product lifecycle management tools (Creo/Windchill preferred).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. ## What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience related to plastic design, operator station design or testing.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects from concept through production implementation.
- Experience working with suppliers, manufacturing, and global engineering teams.
- Demonstrated customer focus and understanding of operator needs, ergonomics, and human factors principles.
- Demonstrated curiosity and initiative
