Must reside within 50 miles of Frankfort, IL. Mechanical engineering for the design of food processing machines. Quantum utilizes the latest version of Inventor and Sheetmetal to model in 3D to ensure our machines meet the highest standards in safety and sanitation. This position will require the ability to interact with customers as well as our shop floor to ensure the project meets the customer's expectations. Responsibilities Meet with customers to support sales in effort to determine the best equipment design for the project. Determine the best existing design, modified design, or new design to meet the customer's needs. Make changes as needed, present for review to the sales team, and finally to the customer. Oversee production of manufacturing and assembly to make sure the new system meets the design standards and ultimately the needs of the customer. May travel to provide customer to support the installation of the new equipment. Ensure all aspects of the machine function properly and look for possible improvements for future projects. Qualifications Requires the ability to understand not only engineering basics but how to apply engineering principles to meet the customer's requirements and expectations. Experience with 3D CAD modeling software (Inventor preferred). This position requires the discipline to be responsible for a project but also the ability to listen to others and incorporate their ideas into the overall project as needed.
