This position will perform as a member of the Operations Team. Maintain a high level of safety and quality awareness. Support safety programs related to personnel safety and food safety. Act as technical leader of set up and operation of equipment. Document production equipment design (mechanical and electrical), and create standard operating procedures (SOP's). Recommend and implement improvements to production equipment and controls. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring key company projects with internal and external resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supports safety programs and guidelines in the production floor. Provides a "hands-on" knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices. Assists in the programming and assembly of such devices to deliver designs that can be readily maintained and repaired on the production floor. Provides technical leadership for set ups and equipment operation (i.e. shirring), and works to improve current processes for efficient and cost effective manufacturing (including inventory control). Develops mechanical design of equipment or tools by studying product requirements and materials, conceptualizing, developing prototypes, testing and perfecting designs. Implements, documents and monitors improvements working with internal teams and vendors. Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new or revised products (including establishing processes and evaluating results). Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Prepares and maintains detailed equipment drawings and building layouts. Performs product or process analyses for safety, quality and productivity improvements. Develops standard operating procedures (SOP's) and trains production personnel. Follows established departmental rules, procedures and policies. Maintain compliance with state and federal safety regulations. Other related duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years of mechanical/electrical experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, desirable. Electro-mechanical design experience, a plus.
Technical skills:
equipment design, assembly, programming, and manufacturing processes and methods (including workflow and layout).
Mathematical skills:
Ability to do mathematical calculations (i.e. ratios, formulas) and advance mathematics (geometry/algebra). Problem analysis and problem resolution, required.
Computer skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, e-mail programs. Knowledge of manufacturing software programs, desirable. Ability to use engineering design software (SolidWorks) or computer assisted design (CAD), a must. Monday -Friday. 08:00am - 04:30pm
