Job Description
Lead and participate in engineering projects and proposals for customers from receipt of purchase order through timely completion of project documentation Review designs, ensure compliance to standards and coordinate PE stamps as appropriate for engineering projects. Manage projects requiring PE stamps (manage 3rd party structural engineers and interface with customers to manage project questions and required data/drawings) Perform engineering calculations and design application evaluations per industry codes and standards Provide customers and end users with detailed assembly drawings, bill of materials, and layouts specific to their project Modify standard products to accommodate custom applications Create and maintain project tracking tools, help set metrics and goals, ensure timely completion Implement lean principles to improve processes and eliminate waste Work directly with our customers to develop solutions for their needs Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with domestic and international teams Remains knowledgeable of market trends, geographical conditions and competitive activity, and applies knowledge in preparing the data Upgrade, develop and deploy tools supporting technical services, engineering process automation, design configuration, ease-of-doing-business customer tools Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D modeling Minimum 1 year of experience or exposure to engineering project management No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50-miles of Highland, IL to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Solidworks experience Experience in a customer-facing environment CAD Experience (AutoCad preferred) Finite Element Analysis understanding Manufacturing Knowledge SAP Understanding (ERP) Pertinent Technical Expertise and Skill Natural affinity for detailed analyses and technical product knowledge Demonstrates strategic mindset with high decision quality Ability to prioritize, create, and lead project teams to drive for results People Skills Ability to clearly present technical material to different types of audiences Strong written/verbal communication skills Naturally curious, adaptable, self-motivated to learn and willing to teach others Experience working in a global business environment Experience in a manufacturing/production environment with understanding of materials and processes Structural analysis (RISA 3D preferred) High mechanical aptitude
