Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager Build the Impossible. Make a Difference.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager to lead unique fabrication projects from proposal through delivery. This is not a desk job—you'll work side-by-side with skilled machinists, welders, and assembly teams to turn concepts into reality. What You'll Do:
Project Leadership Serve as the technical and project lead on high-value jobs ($1K
  • 2M), from concept to shipment Interface directly with customers to define requirements, develop solutions, and manage expectations Develop proposals, cost estimates, and technical documentation for RFQs Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution strategies that balance budget, quality, and risk Collaborate across engineering, machining, welding, and testing teams to ensure seamless execution Design Engineering Support and oversee design, modeling, and drawing development for complex components Perform mechanical, pressure, thermal, and cryogenic calculations as needed Apply ASME Section VIII, B31.
3, and other relevant standards to ensure compliance Maintain documentation including BOMs, travelers, routings, and design revisions Continuous Improvement Identify and implement opportunities to improve fabrication processes, reduce risk, and increase efficiency
What We're Looking For:
Required:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (M.S. or PhD a plus) 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, cryogenics, or related project engineering roles Strong knowledge of fabrication processes: machining, welding, forming, inspection Proficiency with 3D CAD (Inventor preferred), ERP (Made2Manage or similar), and MS Project/Office Excellent communication skills—able to work with everyone from shop floor to senior technical customers Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Nice to
Have:
Experience in vacuum, cryogenic, or pressure system design Familiarity with ASME pressure codes and standards (Section
VIII, B31.3
