Job Description

Job Title R D Engineer III - Oxide Ceramics As the R D Engineer III, you will provide engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs. This role focuses on oxide ceramics formulation and processing.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conduct engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures. Take a major role in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures. Leads individual project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities. Devise advanced research methods and documents results and procedures. Exercises responsibility for multiple pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment. Recommend new or upgrades to existing process and test equipment. Work collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company, providing guidance in his or her areas of expertise. Promote the company's safety culture and continuous improvement efforts. Direct the activities of technicians. Coordinate pilot-plant or initial production runs on new products or processes.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field, and at least five years relevant experience.
Or:
Master's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering field, and at least three years relevant experience.
Or:
PhD degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Science preferred or related Engineering filed. Hands on oxide ceramic materials formulation and processing experience highly preferred.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of ceramic materials and processing. Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented person necessary. Team player. Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Target Hiring Range Annual Salary:
USD 103,000.00 - USD 136,000.00
