ECAD Design Engineer

ECAD Design Engineer - PCB Layout, Xpedition DxDesigner 68460 We are seeking a detail-oriented ECAD Design Engineer to support schematic capture and PCB layout design for aerospace-grade hardware systems. This role focuses on creating and converting schematics, performing PCB layout for multi-layer boards, and delivering high-quality design documentation using industry-standard ECAD tools such as Xpedition Layout and DxDesigner. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in PCB design, layout optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with schematic capture, including converting legacy designs (e.g., TIFF based schematics) into ECAD tools, along with proven expertise in PCB layout for simple to moderately complex boards (1 to 14 layers). You should be experienced in designing PCBs, flex, and rigid flex assemblies, and have a solid understanding of layout best practices including component placement, routing, constraint management, and auto router usage. Proficiency with Xpedition Layout and DxDesigner is required. In this role, you will develop new schematics, perform PCB layout and design, and generate comprehensive documentation including Gerber files, ODB++ outputs, and harness drawings. You will also reverse engineer hardware-only designs and collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy and producibility. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver high-quality designs in a collaborative environment are essential.
