Responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, sheet-metal assemblies, and electromechanical enclosures using SolidWorks and PTC Creo while supporting manufacturing, prototyping, and product development activities. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. 3-5 years of professional mechanical design experience. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assembly design, and engineering drawings. Working experience with PTC Creo. Experience developing production-level 3D models, mechanical assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings. Experience with sheet-metal design, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing standards. Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles and manufacturing processes. Experience designing mechanical components, brackets, panels, chassis, and enclosures. Knowledge of mechanical tolerance analysis and component fit requirements. Preferred Skills Experience designing electrical enclosures, power electronics, industrial equipment, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, or Power Distribution Units (PDU). Experience packaging electrical and electronic components within mechanical assemblies. Knowledge of electromechanical product design and integration. Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, and hands-on product development. Knowledge of thermal management, cooling fans, ventilation, and component airflow. Experience with cable routing, wire harness integration, and electrical connector packaging. Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems. Familiarity with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and formal engineering change control processes. Experience supporting mechanical design verification, prototype testing, and production releases. Job Responsibilities Develop detailed 3D mechanical designs, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks and PTC Creo. Design sheet-metal parts, brackets, panels, chassis, enclosures, and structural mechanical assemblies. Create production-ready 2D engineering drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications. Develop mechanical packaging solutions for electrical and electronic components. Apply GD&T, tolerance analysis, and established mechanical design practices. Design mechanical components and assemblies according to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Create, update, and maintain engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs). Evaluate mechanical designs for manufacturability, assembly requirements, and production feasibility. Support prototype fabrication, assembly builds, and component fit checks. Perform mechanical design verification, prototype testing, and product evaluations. Evaluate component placement, mounting requirements, and mechanical clearances within electromechanical assemblies. Support sheet-metal fabrication processes, including bending, forming, and component assembly. Incorporate thermal management considerations, including ventilation, cooling fans, and component airflow, into mechanical designs. Support cable routing, wire harness placement, and connector integration within mechanical enclosures. Modify existing designs based on prototype testing, manufacturing feedback, and engineering requirements. Maintain accurate mechanical drawings, CAD models, BOMs, and associated technical documentation. Support engineering design changes through established PLM/PDM and change control processes. Coordinate mechanical design requirements with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams. Support product development activities from initial design through prototype validation and production release.
