Mechanical Project Manager LaPorte, IN About the job The Mechanical Project Manager oversees the planning, estimating, execution, and completion of mechanical construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract specifications. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between clients, engineering, operations, procurement, field supervision, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of mechanical projects, including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
  • Lead and enforce site safety, quality assurance, and quality control programs.
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, manpower, and productivity to maximize profitability.
  • Review and approve project billings, cost reports, and change orders.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, field supervisors, and internal departments to ensure project success.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by communicating project status, resolving issues, and ensuring contract compliance.
  • Lead project meetings, mentor team members, conduct performance evaluations, and provide leadership to field personnel.
  • Represent the company professionally and promote a positive partnership with clients.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the petrochemical or industrial construction industry with a focus on downstream construction projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with construction management, contract interpretation, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to industrial job sites.
  • Requires occasional outdoor work and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must meet physical, safety, drug testing, and training requirements, including CPR/First Aid certification.
Overall Objective:
The Mechanical Project Manager is responsible for successfully delivering industrial mechanical projects while ensuring safe operations, financial performance, quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and excellent client satisfaction. Work location is Western Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, La Porte, IN or possibly remote. Requirements added by the job poster
