Job Description Mechanical Engineer Location:
Middlebury, Indiana (Onsite)

Full-Time Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical systems and structural components for automotive or vehicle-based products. Perform structural analysis and validation of designs using engineering principles and simulation tools. Develop and optimize products utilizing composite materials and lightweight construction techniques. Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and product validation activities. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for design-related issues. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry regulations. Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. 3-8+ years of mechanical engineering experience. Strong automotive, recreational vehicle (RV), transportation, or vehicle systems background. Experience with structural design and structural analysis. Knowledge of composite materials, fiberglass, carbon fiber, or other lightweight materials. Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD. Understanding of manufacturing processes and product development methodologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in RV, trailer, automotive, or transportation industries. Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools. Experience with vehicle chassis, body structures, or frame design. Knowledge of material selection, durability testing, and failure analysis.
