This position supports product development, research and development, warranty reduction, cost reduction initiatives, regulatory testing, and manufacturing through reliable test execution and sound technical analysis. The role requires strong ownership of assigned testing activities, a commitment to safety and organization, and the ability to develop test methods, interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement. Essential Functions and Basic Duties Define and perform lab testing Promote safe work practices within the lab and manufacturing environment and follow facility health and safety programs.
  • Independently plan and perform hands-on testing, including setup, troubleshooting, teardown, and documentation.
  • Analyze and communicate results using sound engineering judgment, including data interpretation, trend analysis, and root cause investigation.
  • Specify and utilize test equipment, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation to support verification and development testing.
  • Develop and improve test methods, procedures, fixtures, and standards for mechanical and electrical testing.
  • Define test requirements and verification approaches to confirm product performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead lab audits, support regulatory inspections, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Manage laboratory equipment including maintenance schedules, troubleshooting, repairs, vendor coordination, upgrades, and replacement planning. Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Improve lab organization, efficiency, and cleanliness through 5S and standard work.
  • Identify and implement practical improvements that increase test quality, throughput, safety, and reliability.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve product and process issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Use visual project management tools to help ensure testing is planned and completed on time. Meet policy deployment goals
  • Align testing activities with product development, R D, sustaining engineering, and cost reduction efforts.
  • Support productivity improvements in testing processes, including on-time delivery, lead time, and backlog reduction.
  • Develop project plans and timelines and complete work according to plan. Capabilities and Knowledge
  • Strong technical foundation with proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with experience in test setup, plumbing systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing, cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder alignment, data visualization, and clear reporting of findings and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to independently execute testing assignments and deliver timely, high-quality results in a hands-on environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics related to fluid handling equipment and experience with UL requirements and/or pump design.
Experience Required Required:
3 to 5 years of experience in a similar test engineering, manufacturing, or lab-based role, with demonstrated ability to independently execute and analyze test work.
Required:
Proficiency with 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks), Microsoft Office, and common engineering data analysis tools; experience with Minitab is preferred. Experience with data acquisition systems, measurement equipment, and instrumentation software used to support lab testing and analysis. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. Physical Activities and Mental Demands Requirements Frequently required to perform hands-on work including: Occasional work in tight or confined spaces Crouching, kneeling, and bending to perform plumbing, filter changes, and equipment adjustments Ability to lift up to 80 lbs Comfortable using tools for assembly and disassembly as required for test setup Ability to stand and move throughout the lab for extended periods Working Environment Sitting at a desk, walking on the manufacturing floor, and working in the lab for extended periods of time Working in proximity to and directly with petroleum products `
