Mechanical Engineer-LCS Retrofits Location New Orleans, LA, Baltimore/Washington D.C. Job Category Engineering Division Intralox Intralox, L.L.C. is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer - LCS Retrofits to support retrofit initiatives for automated material handling systems serving the parcel logistics and e-commerce industries. This role provides critical mechanical engineering support during the qualification and quotation phases of retrofit projects and works closely with internal subject matter experts and external customers to develop effective, low-risk engineering solutions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on engineering experience with conveyance systems, strong technical communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. The position includes site visits, in-person customer meetings, and collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical engineering support for projects during qualification and quotation phases. Conduct site-level discovery to support ideation and solution development. Develop and release refresh kit Bills of Material (BOMs) based on field discovery and internal engineering standards. Create clear and actionable technical requests for internal subject matter experts to support project execution. Produce drawings and system layouts for customer presentations and technical discussions. Perform light design work as required to support retrofit & upgrades scope along with LCS tools where applicable. Identify, evaluate, and mitigate technical risks associated with retrofit solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement of products, processes, and applications based on customer feedback and operational needs. Support customer visits, system troubleshooting, and training activities, with travel up to 30%, including occasional international or weekend travel.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a closely related engineering discipline. 3-5 years of experience in a related engineering role. Direct experience with conveyor or material handling systems. Proficiency with CAD tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to work hands-on. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing experience. Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% (domestically and internationally) as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing automated material handling systems or industrial equipment. Familiarity with electrical controls or controls-related system components. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Intralox considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training and key skills. The position is eligible for one of the following: commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives according to the terms of those plans Salary Range $74,300 to $174,300.
