This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or program completer to build real hands-on experience, work alongside experienced engineers, and grow into a full engineering role. You don't need years of industry experience to apply — we're looking for someone with a solid technical foundation, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. You'll get direct mentorship from senior engineers while contributing to real hardware that is used in the field. What You'll Do As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will: Support the design and modeling of mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for sensors used in aerospace and defense applications Create and update detailed 3D models and drawings under the guidance of senior engineers Work alongside Systems, Electrical, RF, and Firmware engineers to support custom electronics systems design Help prepare documentation for design reviews, tolerance analyses, and manufacturing drawings Assist with mechanical integration, assembly, and testing of hardware in the lab Support environmental qualification and verification activities, including hands-on time with test equipment Learn from and collaborate with experienced mentors as you build your engineering skill set Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas as you grow into greater ownership of projects Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design, or a related technical field — OR a technical/vocational high school diploma (e.g., machine technology, engineering technology, or drafting program) with relevant co-op or hands-on project experience Exposure to 3D CAD tools (such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or NX) through coursework, co-op, internship, or personal projects Basic familiarity with engineering drawings and dimensioning concepts (GD&T exposure through coursework is a plus, not a requirement) Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in mechanical design and hardware Good communication skills and comfort working as part of a team Willingness to work hands-on in a lab or shop environment as needed Preferred Qualifications These are a bonus, not a requirement — we're happy to help you build these skills on the job: Co-op, internship, or capstone project experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing Some exposure to tolerance stack-ups or manufacturing/assembly drawing standards Familiarity with common aerospace materials (aluminum, titanium, composites) Experience with hand tools, machine shop equipment, or lab test setups Growth Opportunities This role is designed as a launchpad.
