LOCATION OF POSITION
Nancy S. Grasmick Education Building\r\n200 W. Baltimore Street\r\nBaltimore, MD 21201\r\n Main Purpose of Job MSDE is looking for candidates for a paid, full time internship. The Accessibility Intern will assist MSDE's Information Technology Branch
  • Accessibility Section.\r\n\r\n\r\n�
  • This will be a 6 month internship
  • �\r\n\r\n\r\n
Duties Include:
�\r\n\r\n\r\n Accessibility & Remediation Support
  • Perform accessibility remediation on MSDE documents including Word, PowerPoints and PDFs.�\r\n Online Courses
  • Perform accessibility testing of online courses, track the status and ensure accurate records.�\r\n Equivalent access requirements for students with disabilities
  • create agendas, schedule meetings, takes meeting minutes.�\r\n Procurement
  • Review procurements to ensure approved accessibility language is incorporated.�\r\n Tracking
  • Enter accessibility tickets for digital tools and requested remediation.�\r\n Compliance
  • Review of new legislation and policies and completion of review in comparison with current standards and requirements, identifying new or expanded requirements with potential impacts to MSDE.�\r\n Project Implementation
  • Work on specialized accessibility initiatives and projects, as assigned, under the direction of the Web and Content Accessibility Manager.�\r\n Research/learning
  • Independently research solutions to technical problems and learn new skills through job shadowing and self-study.�\r\n Expected to expand knowledge through hands-on experience.�\r\n General administrative duties
  • Provide general admin support to the IT department as needed.
�\r\n Other duties as assigned.\r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
��60 credit hours in Education, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Technology, or related field\r\n\r\n\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must consent to State and FBI (CJIS) background check as a routine procedure for all MSDE employees.\r\n\r\n\r\n
