Test Engineer
Position Overview
- Mechanical Test EngineerOur client is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer to support the assembly, setup, execution, and analysis of engineering test programs in a hands-on laboratory environment.
This individual will play a key role in building and maintaining test fixtures, configuring fluidic and mechanical test systems, supporting prototype and product validation activities, and documenting test results.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in lab or prototype testing environments, and the ability to collect, organize, and analyze test data using Excel or similar tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with data-driven analysis while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
This is a 9-month contract position with the potential for long-term opportunities but not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, modify, and maintain mechanical test fixtures and prototype assemblies
- Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot fluidic and mechanical test components
- Support engineering teams during product and prototype testing activities
- Collect, organize, and analyze test data to support engineering evaluations
- Document test procedures, results, and observations in a clear and organized manner
- Utilize Excel and other analytical tools to evaluate performance data and identify trends
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to improve test methods and lab processes
- Ensure accurate test execution while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with mechanical assembly and hands-on troubleshooting
- Exposure to laboratory testing, prototype development, or product validation environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools for data collection and analysis
- Ability to work effectively in both a hands-on lab setting and an engineering support role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fluidic systems or test equipment
- Prior exposure to engineering test labs or R D environments
- Comfortable working independently while supporting cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
