Job DescriptionCoffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a ten to fifteen years of experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.
QualificationsKey ResponsibilitiesPerform the following functions:
Design of HVAC and plumbing systemsManage and design multiple concurrent projectsStrong ability to interpret technical drawingsLead design team effortsManage project team for budget and schedule controlDevelop fee and qualification-based proposalsFamiliarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standardsReading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programsAble to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment .Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities .Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred. Must understand database concepts. Working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources files.
Conduct marketing/business development activitiesPositive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
Ability to travelQualificationsBachelor's Degree (B.S) in Mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
