Job Description

RWC, Inc., a global leader in the design and production of innovative manufacturing systems currently has an opening for a Mechanical Project Leader. JOB SUMMARY
Coordinates the mechanical design efforts for possibly several Designers and outside sources, while working closely with customers, vendors, and other departments to ensure adherence to customer and RWC standards, specifications and schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinates and/or designs to obtain the most effective and mechanically sound design possible, in accordance with contractual requirements. Coordinates all outside designs to obtain the most cost effective and mechanically sound design possible, in accordance with contractual requirements. This effort must also be reviewed and approved in conjunction with the Chief Engineer. Works closely with the job controller/project manager in documenting, organizing and transferring information from a customer, vendor, etc...To all personnel involved with the assigned project. Reviews individual designs with Chief Engineer, responsible designer and customers. Utilizes personal and technical skills to guide and assist designers and layout drafters with problems related to assigned tasks. Monitors designers, layout drafters, and detailers to assure maximum productivity is obtained to meet schedule and assigned hours. Assists the mechanical engineering manager in establishing and updating the engineering planning system for assigned projects on a weekly basis. Fills out & completes all the required paperwork, engineering bid pac, engineering status sheet, preferred components, design criteria, etc.. Assists manufacturing by supplying information before and during assembly and test to ensure maximum shop efficiency. Coordinates the transfer of information to electrical engineer and fluid power engineer on a timely basis, so as to not cause a delay in the project schedule. Responsible for maintaining and control of customer part prints. Responsible for the documentation of notes required during the weekly design reviews. Responsible for making sure all appropriate information is filed in the EMTN (Engineering, Manufacturing Technical Notebook). Responsible for identifying and documenting any engineering P.S.C.R.F.'s Responsible for RFM dates, design dates, schedules and assigned hours. Responsible for design reviews and approvals with chief engineer prior to RFM. Responsible to follow the "Mechanical Design Process" gates flow chart. Schedules M.E. weekly design reviews with the appropriate people. Responsible for completeness and accuracy of all product calculations and servo sizing and component sizing. Assists in the

in scheduling manufacturing pre-build reviews. Travel to customer facility to attend project meeting, design review, or as needed. Responsible for understanding proposal, RFSO's and design criteria to ensure designs meet contractual requirements. Responsible to follow all RWC corporate and engineering
ISO-9001
procedures.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and/or ten (10) years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field. Advanced knowledge and understanding of Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mechanical Drafting and Mechanical Engineering. Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems that arise during the design and assembly of equipment. Knowledge of basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to all applicable software. Interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively interact with all management levels, customers, vendors and other employees. Organizational skills required to work on several complex projects simultaneously in order to meet the project requirements. Must be able to work in a teamwork environment. Ten (10) years experience with SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD and other associated software.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal drafting room environment with little or no discomfort due to dust, noise, temperature, etc. Occasional exposure to manufacturing process with slightly higher noise levels. Occasional domestic and international travel, including air and ground travel.
