Job Description
Job description Under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer, the Lead Engineer owns the engineering design, manufacturing support, and state regulatory compliance for the company's kiosk products. This role leads product development from concept through production, ensuring design integrity, manufacturability, quality, cost effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. The Lead Engineer provides technical leadership, manages engineering systems and documentation, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and field operations. This position also leads and mentors the Compliance /Quality Engineer. This is a Full time Salary, Exempt, position being offered at $125,000-$145,000 DOE + 25% bonus Lead engineering design and evaluation activities Oversee Quality & Compliance engineering activities Manage third-party consultants (electrical, mechanical, programming) as needed Use SolidWorks to create and revise designs supporting fabrication, machining, welding, electrical integration, and in-house assembly Oversee and coordinate the units control system code development (3rd party) Select appropriate materials and design for manufacturability (DFM) Conduct and document field installation testing of prototypes, systems, or units Manage the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process Maintain and control Bills of Material (BOM) within the Engineering and ERP systems for new and existing products Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Field Support Conduct supplier selection analysis in partnership with Procurement to ensure cost, quality, and performance standards are met. Collaborate with Technical Services to resolve field performance issues Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis using structured problem-solving tools (8D, A3, 5 whys) Participate in process improvements to enhance quality, reliability, and efficiency Comprehensive medical insurance- no monthly premium for employee only coverage. Working knowledge of electrical systems and control system programming Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects Ability to work on a computer and communicate via phone and email Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or related field preferred) At least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience Experience leading or mentoring junior engineers Water treatment technologies and ice production/packaging systems Technical product support or technical writing Hands-on fabrication, modification, and 3D printing SolidWorks PDM administration Exposure to programming or controls technologies
