Mechanical Project Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Project Engineer to lead capital projects and support mechanical systems within a heavy industrial environment. This role is based in Coldwater, MI, with periodic travel to regional facilities. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing setting and can manage projects with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities:

Lead and execute capital and engineering projects (Project Management/Engineering). Provide plant support and troubleshoot mechanical systems. Perform mechanical design work, including drawing modifications. Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success. Support additional facilities, including locations in Chicago Heights and Mississauga (travel required).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 2+ years of industrial experience beyond school projects (manufacturing/heavy industrial preferred). Strong project management and mechanical design abilities; Inventor/AutoCAD experience preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and make sound technical decisions. Knowledge of structural design and regulatory standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA). Six Sigma/PMP certification and experience with aluminum processes are a plus. Must be able to travel up to 30%; international travel capability is preferred. This role is not sponsorship supported - candidates with needed sponsorship will not be considered.
