Job Description

The detailed job duties for the R D Engineer position at VLE Electronics Inc. (
DBA:
BOE Varitronix) are as follows:
  • Develop embedded C/C++ firmware to control display modules, manage real-time tasks under FreeRTOS, and interface with hardware using protocols such as I2C and SPI.
  • Design and implement Python-based automated testing systems that capture and analyze hardware performance data, and generate advanced visualizations such as ISO-style plots.
  • Design, develop, and refine GUI-based applications encompassing gamma adjustment, white balance and color calibration, adaptive dimming control, and comprehensive panel diagnostics.
  • Conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate display controller firmware, backlight and dimming algorithms, communication interfaces, and fault-handling mechanisms, ensuring reliable performance prior to full panel integration.
  • Write and deliver technical documentation and reports for a complex software application, including comprehensive test plans, software architecture flowchart, data analysis summaries, etc.
  • Bridge customer engineering and internal development teams for rapid bug fixes and feature requests.
  • Deliver technical presentations, requirement walkthroughs, and demo builds for customers, resolving concerns with professional expertise.
  • Oversee equipment performance to verify that systems operate according to specifications and with industry standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prototype new display features or functionalities, performing tests and experiments to validate design concepts.
  • Develop optimization models/systems using programming languages like Python and R to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
