Our customers exist in a wide range of industries - from beer to kombucha to peanut butter and paint. Put simply, if they have a product that needs to be canned or bottled, we help them do that more efficiently with our heavy-duty, reliable packaging machinery. The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful delivery of complete projects, including both third-party purchased equipment and flagship products produced by Ska Fabricating. You will work with customers at the beginning of the process to ensure that Ska Fabricating's solution and schedule are aligned with customer needs, organizing internal resources to ensure customer delivery dates and acceptance criteria are communicated, providing feedback to customers on scheduled delivery and installation timelines, and managing customer changes in project scope or requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter to grow both their engineering and project management skills. Basic Responsibilities of Position Comprehend 2D layouts in AutoCAD based on customer floor plans and discuss layouts with customers. Communicate with customers to establish a timeframe of when equipment is needed and gain customer approval on the proposed solution and delivery time frame. Create a timeline for each project with a plan to implement every step of the process from start to finish. Procure and schedule delivery and installation of all the 3rd party vendor items. Schedule installation team resources to deploy Ska Fabricating equipment on site. Respond to inbound service requests for both in-person and remote service. Prepare and send quotations for service. Oversee scheduling and dispatch of field service activities, including new system installations, service contracts, emergency repairs, remote support, and upgrades. Maintain and manage the accuracy of service calendars across the entire service team. Review installation prerequisites and timelines to ensure customers are adequately prepared for service visits and commissioning. Monitor technician utilization, service delivery timelines, and outcomes to ensure projects stay on budget and schedule. Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to resolve recurring equipment, application, or estimating issues. Contribute to new equipment design reviews from an installation and serviceability perspective. Monitor timelines, track progress of each project, and collaborate with the manufacturing team, the engineering team, and the sales engineers on any changes to the original project plan or scope. Manage all customer change orders, including changes to layout, equipment requirements, or project scope. Lead internal process improvement efforts related to improving end-to-end project lifecycle, including how projects are approved, how custom-engineered equipment gets launched into production, how project schedules and installation timelines are communicated to customers, how equipment can be packaged and delivered for optimal installation, and more. Maintain and nurture a positive customer relationship with all Ska Fabricating customer accounts and be an effective team player across all major functions in the company. Aid in the administration of the technical support ticketing system, including ticket assignment to the responsible department Prepare and issue project-specific user manual documents
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Minimum 5 years of experience as a project manager, project engineer, or field service engineer deploying complex manufacturing equipment projects. Familiarity with AutoCAD and ability to read and understand 2D factory equipment layouts. AutoCAD Inventor experience preferred but not required Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills that will assist in understanding our equipment and the intricacies of each project.

interpersonal, listening, oral, and written. Skilled at working with customers and suppliers, building effective relationships through the entire project lifecycle. Strong team player with ability to build and manage cross-functional teams across internal functions, third-party suppliers, and customers.
