$24.00 per hour26-05566Job SummaryThe Test Technician is responsible for supporting product testing, test equipment operation, and test system maintenance activities within a manufacturing and engineering environment. This role works closely with test engineering personnel to perform product validation, test setup, data collection, troubleshooting, and equipment modifications. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and test specifications. This position plays a critical role in evaluating product performance, supporting customer requirements, and ensuring accurate and reliable testing results.
Job ResponsibilitiesReview engineering instructions, test procedures, blueprints, and specifications to determine testing requirements and objectives.
Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and support systems.
Perform product testing in accordance with established test procedures and customer requirements.
Configure test equipment and make adjustments as required to ensure accurate test execution.
Collect, document, and maintain test data, records, and reports.
Store and manage test samples, documentation, and data in accordance with established procedures.
Support the fabrication, assembly, and modification of test fixtures, equipment, and mechanical components.
Create sketches, drawings, and documentation to support fabrication and testing activities.
Assemble and modify mechanical systems, assemblies, and components used in testing environments.
Conduct testing and evaluation of hydraulic components and systems to verify product performance.
Perform dimensional inspections and verify product conformance to engineering specifications.
Troubleshoot test equipment, instrumentation, and mechanical systems.
Assist engineering teams with test development, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Support additional testing and engineering activities as assigned.
Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, hydraulics, maintenance, or a related technical field required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
Knowledge of test equipment operation, machine hydraulics, inspection equipment, and data acquisition systems preferred.
General knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Experience performing dimensional inspections and using precision measurement tools preferred.
Basic mathematics, graph interpretation, and technical calculations required.
Ability to fabricate, assemble, and modify mechanical components and test fixtures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
Ability to learn and apply new technologies and testing methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as required.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical training, vocational education, or an associate degree in a mechanical, manufacturing, engineering technology, or related field preferred.
Work ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience supporting product testing, manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical assembly, hydraulics, or related technical operations required.
Experience with hydraulic component testing and evaluation preferred.
Experience operating test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems preferred.
Experience performing dimensional inspections and interpreting engineering drawings preferred.
Experience with PC-based control systems preferred.
Experience with measurement systems, instrumentation wiring, and test documentation preferred.
Experience supporting engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or product development environments preferred.
