IS VEH VGGP
division is currently seeking a Test Engineer. This is a full time, on-site position based at our Marshall, MI campus. The Test Engineer will assist in problem solving activities within the Mobility Group labs on campus in Marshall, MI through a systematic, collaborative approach. This role will be responsible for investigative testing activities in a laboratory environment in order to root-cause issues observed in internal development testing, customer testing and end-user warranty. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about investigative techniques, keep abreast of new & emerging technologies, be skilled in efficient, structured problem solving and have excellent communication skills. The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time. ## What you'll do:- Lead problem solving activities using a disciplined problem-solving approach across various areas (electrical, mechanical, systems).
- Capture technical knowledge and track process improvements.
- Continuously improve failure analysis capabilities for the organization through improved testing processes, test equipment and test methods. (FMEA, simulations, modeling included)
- Lead projects to install test equipment or modify equipment for new products and needs.
- Coordinate test equipment maintenance and calibrations with facility.
- Stay current with the latest test equipment, methodologies and improve facilities through capital planning and execution.
- Collaborate with lab technician activities for test setup, execution and reporting.
- Have a fundamental understanding of DC electric circuits and methods of coil control as it relates to automotive & commercial engines.
- Ability to design and build analog conditioning circuits using op-amps or other components ##
Qualifications:
Required Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution or candidates with an anticipated graduation by 5/2026.
- Minimum 2 years experience in engineering in a lab and/or manufacturing environment (co op, internship and/or work experience will be accepted as applicable experience) Eaton will not consider applicants for empl

Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years experience in test engineering
- Problem solving skills: S
- hainin Red X, 8D, 5-whys, PDCA, Fishbone, FRACAS
- iTest/CANape/LabVIEW data acquisition and controls experience a plus
- Experience with CAD tools and behavioral simulation a plus (SPICE, Simplis, Ansys, Matlab, Simulink)Experience with setting up and data collection of thermocouples, proximity probes, LVDT's, strain gages, etc.
- Experience with National Instrument components ##
Skills:
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills - both verbal and written.
- Awareness of international cultures and working efficiently across cultures.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.
- Ability to read, evaluate and interpret internal design specification documents and develop a comprehensive problem-solving plan.
