1-hour onsite interview Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of automation and general assembly systems. This role requires strong mechanical design expertise, hands-on engineering experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, conceptualize, and develop mechanical designs for new products and automation systems Develop testing processes and perform validation/testing of new designs Create working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstrations Perform engineering calculations to support design development Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineering Work closely with vendors and contractors to support design execution and implementation Maintain detailed project documentation to track development progress and engineering changes Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Equivalent practical experience will also be considered Approximately 10 years of mechanical design experience Proficiency with Siemens NX (NX preferred) Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes Experience designing mechanical systems within automation and/or general assembly environments Preferred Experience Automotive industry experience, preferably supporting OEM environments such as Ford Experience with industrial automation or general assembly systems Nice-to-Have Experience Ford General Assembly Ford GVOSS General Motors manufacturing environments GM General Assembly GM Stamping HRU is an EOE (Equal Opportunity Employer) #HRUProfessional Apply for this job
