Senior Electrical Test Engineer LabVIEW | Automated Test Equipment Sterling Heights, MI $63.00 - $70.42/Hour U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law We are hiring a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to design, develop, integrate, and deliver Automated Test Equipment (ATE) supporting military ground vehicle hardware. This role supports electrical test engineering, LabVIEW software development, test instrumentation, hardware/software integration, electrical design, and verification and validation (V&V) activities to ensure military vehicle systems meet product and performance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, integrate, and deliver specialized Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for military vehicle hardware.
- Develop hardware interface schematics, electrical design drawings, cable drawings, and material parts lists.
- Develop LabVIEW software routines to control automated test equipment and instrumentation.
- Develop test strategies, devices, systems, and procedures to validate product requirements and functional performance.
- Generate test reports from data captured using LabVIEW.
- Design new test equipment components and improve existing hardware and test systems.
- Coordinate material build kits and support technicians during test equipment fabrication and assembly.
- Assemble automated test consoles, related equipment, electrical cables, and hardware interfaces.
- Verify test equipment and test software support product requirement compliance.
- Perform hardware and software code reviews and troubleshoot test equipment, instrumentation, and software issues.
- Support quality reviews of test equipment designs and test software.
- Perform engineering analysis supporting the design, development, and implementation of test equipment components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to verify products meet technical and functional requirements.
- Maintain and organize associated engineering laboratories.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of applicable electrical engineering, test engineering, or automated test equipment experience.
- Experience developing test applications and routines using LabVIEW.
- Experience working with GPIB, USB, LXI, and PXI bus instrumentation.
- Ability to operate electronic test instrumentation, including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), function generators, and data acquisition (DAQ) systems.
- Experience creating electrical design drawings and electrical cable drawings.
- Experience with automated test equipment hardware/software integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Project, OneNote, and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Programming experience with C++, Python, or Visual Basic.
