Electronic Development Department What You Will Do:
Oversee the advanced research of current practices and future trends related to E/E architecture and power distribution systems
Support and lead local testing efforts related to North American regional environmental testing of low-voltage battery performance
Design and develop an auxiliary power distribution controller (PDC) for NA programs that could potentially expand to the main power distribution controller
Learn (via training) the HMC (Hyundai Motor Company) program deliverables and milestones for respective vehicle programs; align ECU design timing to the overall vehicle program timing
Establish a DV/PV test plan for design components
Support supplier selection process
Support component specification requirements development
Establish component design and development timing plan(s)
Ensure timely meeting of design milestones and deliverables
Track all issues related to the design/development of the component Ensure resolution (with root cause and corrective action) and document lessons learned Lead/support meetings with R D colleagues, component suppliers, and cross-functional teams
Support on-site production activities in NA manufacturing facilities (when applicable)
Create and present reports for management to review. Report content will vary depending on the scope of work; however, reports commonly include the status of projects relative to their successful delivery.
To drive innovation, remain current with new technology and competitive products
Provide technical support for pre- and post-production issues concerning body electronics
Travel up to 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally What You Will Bring to the
Role:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field
3+ years of body electronics design and validation experience
Experience with engineering projects related to the design and development of components for vehicle electronics
Knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures and systems design
Electrical circuit knowledge or design experience
Working knowledge of CAN communication protocol
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action plans for electrical systems and components
Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Adept in Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word An ability to prepare reports/spreadsheets (when needed) to support project-related work Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills Ability to diagnose complex issues (e.g., failure analysis) and develop robust solutions under tight timelines and in cooperation with adjacent teams Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in electrical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field
Experience and understanding of
ECU HW/SW
design, vehicle electronic architectures and systems, network bus communication, wiring/connectors, DV/PV testing, and supplier management Electric vehicle-related experience is a plus Flexibility with program and process changes. Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis may make late changes to satisfy customer needs.
Experience with electrical hardware packaging (i.e., CATIA or similar CAD programs)
