The Role As a Design and Release Engineer - Seatbelts, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and release of seatbelt systems for General Motors vehicles, ensuring customer-focused solutions and robust engineering. Looking for someone with passion for safety. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Lead the design and development of innovative and robust seatbelt systems, meeting all safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. Utilize Engineering Release Systems and Teamcenter Visualization for product data management, release, and change control. Integrate seatbelt designs seamlessly into the overall vehicle architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams including styling, packaging, manufacturing, and suppliers. Lead and participate in Group Problem Solving activities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions for design and manufacturing issues. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, demonstrating a results-oriented approach to achieve program milestones through the GVDP. Collaborate with suppliers on design feasibility, manufacturing processes, and quality control. Conduct and oversee design validation and verification activities, including testing and analysis. Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to seatbelt systems. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. 2+ years of experience in automotive design and release engineering, specifically with seatbelt or restraint systems. Strong proficiency in Design/Development/Integration methodologies. Demonstrated experience with Engineering Release Systems and Teamcenter Visualization. Comfortable working with multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams. Ability to Lead Cross-Functional Teams effectively. Highly Customer-Focused with a proven track record of delivering user-centric solutions. Strong Results-Oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to deal with ambiguity and forward-thinking environment. What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) 5+ years of experience in automotive design and release engineering, specifically with seatbelt or restraint systems. Previous DRE, Validation or Safety Integration Performance engineering experience. DFSS Certification. #
