Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer | Build Machines, Not Just Models Ever designed something, watched it get built, and then seen it perform in the real world? A growing Minnesota equipment manufacturer is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys more than sitting behind a CAD screen. We're looking for someone who understands how machines work , how their systems interact, and what it takes to turn an idea into equipment that performs in the field. What makes this role different? You'll work on complete machines, not just individual components. From concept and calculations to prototyping, manufacturing, testing, and field troubleshooting, you'll have a hand in the entire process. You'll work with: Mechanical design, structural components, and fabrication Hydraulics, diesel engines, gearboxes, and drivetrains Electrical systems and equipment integration Product development, testing, and continuous improvement Manufacturing teams, suppliers, and engineering leadership Who we're looking for An engineer with hands-on design experience involving mobile equipment, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, specialty vehicles, or similar complex mechanical systems . Ideally, you bring: 4-8 years of relevant mechanical design experience Experience designing equipment with multiple interacting systems Strong 3D CAD skills and practical engineering judgment An understanding of hydraulics, power transmission, and structural design A Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related degree You don't need to know every system or product. You do need a solid mechanical foundation, curiosity, and the ability to solve problems beyond the drawing board. Why consider it? You'll work directly with experienced engineering leadership and the CEO, have meaningful input into product development, and see your designs become working equipment. The benefits are worth a look, too. The company pays 95% of medical premiums for employees and dependents , plus 100% of dental, life, and disability premiums. On-site opportunity southwest of Minneapolis, with occasional travel. Interested in designing equipment that gets put to work? Send your resume or contact David McKnight with gpac at 608-514-9815 for a confidential conversation.
