Gilbert Mechanical is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing design-build team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and development of complex HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and industrial projects while helping shape the future of our engineering organization. As Gilbert Mechanical continues to grow, this position provides a clear path for increased leadership responsibilities, including mentoring engineers, establishing engineering standards, and potentially leading and developing the engineering team. Responsibilities Lead the design and engineering of HVAC and plumbing systems for design-build projects. Perform and review heating and cooling load calculations and equipment selections. Develop mechanical system layouts and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project stakeholders. Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and support project execution. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers. Review designs, specifications, calculations, and drawings for accuracy and code compliance. Participate in project planning, client meetings, and construction coordination meetings. Identify and resolve technical design issues throughout the project lifecycle. Support estimating, value engineering, and preconstruction efforts. Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business growth initiatives. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution 10+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems design, plumbing design, or mechanical construction. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical design principles, plumbing systems, building codes, and construction practices. Experience leading mechanical design efforts on commercial or industrial projects. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred. Experience in a design-build environment. Experience with healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, data center, education, or commercial projects. Knowledge of Navisworks, SysQue, and Trane Trace. Piping and sheet metal fabrication experience. Cost estimating and value engineering experience.
