Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Test Engineering Technician to support engineering validation and verification activities for electronic hardware products. This role will focus primarily on testing rechargeable battery packs and battery charging systems , including electrical performance, safety, environmental behavior, durability, and lifecycle testing. The technician will execute standardized test procedures, operate laboratory equipment, document test results, and support engineering troubleshooting and product development activities. The role may also expand to testing other electronic hardware as business needs evolve. Key Responsibilities Execute standardized test procedures and test plans for product development and validation. Set up test configurations and operate laboratory equipment to collect electrical, thermal, and functional measurements. Perform electrical, thermal, mechanical, durability, and lifecycle evaluations. Test rechargeable battery packs and charging systems. Accurately record, organize, and maintain test data and observations. Maintain traceability between test conditions, hardware configurations, test data, and results. Support troubleshooting, test setup improvements, and validation of design changes. Create and contribute to engineering and product documentation, including test reports and product-focused technical content. Review technical documentation and media for accuracy and alignment with evaluated hardware. Follow laboratory safety procedures and best practices for handling and testing hardware. Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams. Contribute to improvements in test methods, fixtures, documentation, and laboratory processes. Required Qualifications Education Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline. Experience Hands-on experience testing electronic or electrical hardware in an engineering or development environment. Experience testing batteries and battery charging systems using electrical, thermal, and functional test methods. Familiarity with rechargeable battery chemistries, charging systems, applicable industry standards, regulations, and safety considerations. Experience executing test plans or standardized test procedures. Technical Skills Proficiency using laboratory test equipment such as: Digital multimeters (DMMs) Oscilloscopes Power supplies Electronic loads Temperature probes and related measurement equipment Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and components. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Ability to accurately document, organize, analyze, and communicate test results. Communication & Collaboration Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with engineering and cross-functional teams. Ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with battery-powered products or rechargeable battery systems. Experience with product verification and validation. Experience in a regulated product development environment. Experience developing or improving test fixtures, methods, or laboratory procedures.
Local Candidates Only Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
