PAR Systems, a world leader in engineering intelligent solutions, is growing its Mechanical Engineering team. Our focus on technology, quality, and new ideas extends beyond our products, as we look to add diverse, dynamic, and dedicated people to our company. Bringing a proactive mindset to work, the Sr Mechanical Engineer will join our Critical Handling Solutions (CHS) business segment overseeing mechanical designs while working with Controls and Software Engineers, Sales and Manufacturing to create innovative custom solutions. The CHS team specializes in designing and building a variety of high performance, high reliability custom crane and lifting equipment. We serve several diverse industries including aerospace, nuclear test laboratories, commercial nuclear plants and various other industries that have a need for the most advanced lifting systems conceivable.
Success Criteria:
Every great project starts with a great design. Your experience in SolidWorks will be honed by our chief and principal engineers and you will leverage your experience to mentor more junior coworkers. You will ensure the project requirements are tracked and met while keeping the project on schedule. Leading both internal and customer design review meetings will be another core component of bringing these complex projects to life. Help our new business initiatives flourish by providing technical guidance within your respective discipline and project teams. You'll be able to build more than just product orders, you'll innovate custom cranes for our unique lifting applications. Lastly, there are times when new design standards will be crucial for subsequent projects. Working with engineering leaders across business units will give you great career visibility with company leadership teams as you propose and assist in continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering 5-10+ years of experience in machine and/or automation design. Experience with 3D CAD modeling packages -- SolidWorks preferred. Ability to manage a large machine or automation design from the concept phase through modeling and detailing as well as guiding individuals or teams through this same process. Demonstrated ability to own and drive projects to completion Strong skills in planning, organization and dedication to consistently deliver on commitments Willingness to travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery. Typically expect travel not to exceed 10%, but up to 25% travel may be required periodically.
