The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above. This position will be located at 1659 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. Responsibilities
  • What youGÇÖll do Assistant/Associate Environmental Engineer Evaluate chemical and mechanical processes for the type and amount of air emissions, determine state and federal rule applicability, and assess compliance with said rules.
Draft air permits in accordance with state and federal regulations, guidance, and policy. Attend/participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain an understanding of current and future state/federal regulations. Provide technical assistance and guidance to the regulated community, public citizens, private engineering consultants, legislators, and others regarding laws, regulations, and engineering requirements through in-person or online meetings, written communications, and presentations. Participate in site visits to industry operations to develop a working knowledge in specific types of operations. Professional Environmental Engineer All the duties of an Assistant/Associate Engineer above, plus: Serve as a mentor and the main permit training source for Assistant/Associate Engineers Review draft permits prepared by Assistant/Associate Engineers for accuracy, consistency, and provide a recommendation to their supervisor regarding the approvability of the draft permit. Qualifications
  • All you need for success To be hired as a Professional Engineer, you must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.

Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short
  • or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
Problem Solving:
Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Equivalent to those typically gained by: Assistant Engineer GÇô A bachelorGÇÖs degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 0-2 years relevant experience. Associate Engineer GÇô A bachelorGÇÖs degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program and 2-4 years of progressive relevant experience. Professional Engineer GÇô Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri with at least four full years of satisfactory engineering experience, as required for licensure. Experience with Air Pollution state and federal regulation, specifically the permitting regulations.
