At Hitachi Energy, we're searching for an innovative and detail-focused Electrical R D Engineer to join our Liquid-Filled Distribution Transformers team. In this role, you'll collaborate with a global network of experts, turning forward-thinking concepts into cutting-edge prototypes. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines. How You'll Make an Impact Contribute inventive electrical design ideas to R D projects Lead or support initiatives aligned with time, cost, and quality objectives Coordinate prototype manufacturing and testing activities Design and execute experiments to validate technical solutions Document project progress and develop design rules from findings Participate in intellectual property discussions and risk evaluations Provide technical support to factories, marketing teams, and customers Collaborate with global R D peers to optimize electrical designs Support cost-out initiatives and design portfolio development for the South Boston location Your Background Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 2+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally within transformers R D experience in a business or industrial environment is beneficial Knowledge of magnetic, dielectric, or thermal design preferred Familiarity with FEM or 2D circuit-simulation tools is advantageous Strong communication skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset More About Us We champion innovation, collaboration, and sustainability across everything we do We offer global career pathways, continuous learning, and a culture of inclusion We empower individuals to grow, experiment, and shape the future of energy Apply now Current employees apply here
