Turn product requirements into manufacturable designs. Develop 3D models and mechanical drawings, evaluate design performance, and coordinate with engineering and manufacturing partners to move projects from concept through production.
Duties:
Create and revise mechanical designs, 3D computer-aided design (CAD) models, mechanical detail drawings, schematics, and product documentation using tools such as Creo. Apply mechanical drafting, machine design, tolerance analysis, and Geometric Dimensionin and Tolerancing (GD&T) to support clear, production-ready designs. Perform system design reviews, and root cause analysis; use findings to improve product performance. Design, develop, and test new products. Validate concepts through analysis and testing including design of test fixtures and special instrumentations. Design parts and assemblies consisting of sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, castings, plastics, sensors, and electronics. Collaborate with other functional groups to meet project deliverables.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years machine design experience Knowledge of mechanical engineering, mechanical design, engineering product development, and manufacturing; experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role Experience with CAD software Creo (preferred) or SolidWorks or AutoDesk and 3D CAD modeling for product design; project management and cross-functional communication skills Design experience with the following: sheet metal, weldments, mechanisms, machined parts, tool components, hydraulics, system integration, structure analysis, material selection, heat treatment, patent experience, GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
