Our U.S. operations continue to grow quickly which has prompted us to look for an additional Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Power Transformers team in Washington, Missouri . If you're a detail-driven thinker who enjoys solving complex problems —and maybe even cracking a dry joke or two—you'll fit right in. ? What You'll Be Doing You'll design 3-phase, 50/60 Hz power transformers up to 100,000 KVA and 161,000 volts . Your work will directly support our customers' energy infrastructure across the U.S. and beyond .
Your day-to-day might include:
Reviewing customer specs and translating them into engineering requirements Designing tanks, accessories, and internal structures using 3D CAD Performing structural calculations and preparing general arrangement drawings Creating bills of materials and manufacturing documentation Collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges Writing manuals and work instructions (yes, we know—less glamorous, but still VERY important) Why WEG? Requirements:
? What You'll Bring to the Role Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited U.S. university Proficiency with AutoCAD and 3D/2D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks ) Strong command of Microsoft Excel and ability to present technical content with PowerPoint Ability to work on-site in Washington, Missouri to support production and cross-functional collaboration Authorized to work in the
United States Completion of:
an application , talent assessment, interview , background check , and drug screen (including THC, as role will be safety-sensitive). Preferred Qualifications Degree from a Missouri-based or regional university (e.g., Missouri S&T, Mizzou, Missouri State, UMSL, WashU) Veteran of U.S. military or naval forces with mechanical design experience 4+ years of experience designing medium to high-power transformers (15,000 KVA / 69kV and above), ideally with load tap changers Familiarity with
ANSI/IEEE , NEMA
