Job Description
Overview We are a family-owned manufacturer seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team, driving the development and optimization of mechanical systems and products. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical design, system analysis, and project management to deliver high-quality solutions that meet industry standards and client specifications. Your contributions will be pivotal in advancing our manufacturing processes, product development initiatives, and engineering projects across diverse industries. Responsibilities Design, develop, and refine mechanical components and systems using advanced CAD software such as SolidWorks, ensuring precision and manufacturability. Create detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models for product design and manufacturing processes. Conduct tolerance analysis and mechanical detail drawings to ensure components meet ASME codes & standards and industry best practices. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and system simulations using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or CAD-integrated solutions to validate design integrity under operational conditions. Lead root cause analysis investigations for mechanical failures or performance issues, implementing corrective actions effectively. Manage project schedules, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely delivery of mechanical product development projects. Utilize building information modeling (BIM) tools when applicable for integrated project planning and design collaboration. Apply mechanical knowledge in manufacturing environments, supporting CNC machining, machine design, and assembly processes. Collaborate with electrical engineers on system design involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, or other automation tools. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for precise manufacturing specifications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on mechanical product development. Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks and Drafting tools for 3D modeling for product design. Strong understanding of mechanical drafting, schematics, mechanical drawings, and GD&T principles. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, assembly techniques, and tolerance analysis methods. Familiarity with engineering standards such as ASME codes & standards relevant to machine design and fabrication. Ability to perform root cause analysis using systematic problem-solving techniques in complex systems. Project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively with electrical engineers, system designers, and manufacturing teams.
