Full Job Description Basic Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred, but must be obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Position:
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES
As a mechanical engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, Undersea Mission Solutions, you'll be a member of and may lead a cross functional team responsible for the development of electronic and mechanical packaging design, and validation, including: structural and thermal analysis, shock and vibration, and design for manufacturability. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences : Working knowledge of computer aided analysis tools (thermal, CFD, structural), such as Ansys; Working knowledge of computer aided design tools (3D, 2D, layout), such as Creo; Experience with small form factor, high power electromechanical elements; Self-starting, detail-focused, problem solver; Experience with high-pressure applications, including sealing technologies; Dynamic Modeling utilizing MatLab; What sets you apart: Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings; Strong knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards; Creative thinker capable of leading a team in the preparation of project design, testing, and prototype fabrication; Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success; Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Attention to detail and ability to document technical information to be consumed by technical and non-technical individuals; Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
