This role involves leveraging mechanical and electrical design expertise to improve existing equipment and create innovative new designs. You will collaborate with product development teams to define and deliver products that meet customer needs while ensuring all designs are food-safe, efficient, and durable.

This position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will work closely with production, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and assist in mechanical design for machinery, layouts, assemblies, and components, including preparing assembly drawings, DXFs, weldments, and detailed part lists. Manage the testing and analysis of prototype equipment, parts, and products for the food processing industry to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards. Lead and develop a team of engineers by ensuring each team member understands their roles and responsibilities, delivering coaching and constructive feedback to achieve project goals and objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Production, and Accounting, to integrate mechanical and electrical designs into complete system solutions. Develop and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and production procedures. Drive research and development of new technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing processes and product performance. Identify and resolve technical challenges during design and manufacturing phases. Coordinate and oversee the work of designers and electrical engineers within the department, while providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and team members. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical and electrical engineering. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for product safety and performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis, with proven leadership experience. Demonstrated expertise in complex modeling and simulation (stress, strain, analysis, etc.). Proficiency in SolidWorks Mechanical Design Suite. Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and changing priorities under tight deadlines.
