Position Overview Mechanical engineering intern will report to a senior member of the mechanical engineering team on the R D team and will assist with current projects. Responsibilities Assisting with the design, analysis, build, and/or test of projects for the R D team This position will provide an opportunity for a prospective engineer to experience working on real, open ended problems in an R D environment. Experience with the entire design process from ideation thru prototype and test is often the standard and can include 3D modeling, finite element analysis, fabrication, and design of experiments. Qqualifications Qualifications CAD experience Basic drafting and understanding machine design Bonus FEA experience (structural or thermal) Fabrication experience Design for manufacturability experience Automation and controls experience opto-mechanical/optics experience One year of engineering classes with focus on mechanical Independently driven Strong desire to learn new things and enjoys researching the answer Interest in communications industry and/or working with established technology
