We are actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop complete mechanical systems and manufacturing-ready drawing packages. This opportunity is suited to an engineer who can translate project requirements into practical designs, select and integrate components, and work directly with manufacturing to support production. You will own assigned mechanical design deliverables, from 3D modeling and detailed drawings through design revisions and technical troubleshooting. Responsibilities Develop complete mechanical systems, assemblies, and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks. Develop and maintain piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), translating them alongside electrical schematics, customer specifications, and general arrangement drawings into mechanical designs. Produce manufacturing drawing packages covering assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, sheet metal, weldments, and tubing and instrumentation layouts. Develop accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and select mechanical components. Apply Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles to improve build efficiency, serviceability, reliability, and cost. Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve design questions and incorporate production and field redlines. Participate in design reviews, support mechanical validation and testing, and work with quality to resolve nonconformities. Investigate mechanical and system-performance issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain drawing revisions, design-change records, and complete engineering documentation. Contribute to standardized components, modular designs, and improved CAD workflows. Qualifications Relevant mechanical design experience, ideally 3-6 years Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Strong SolidWorks proficiency, including the ability to produce complete mechanical designs and manufacturing documentation. Demonstrated ability to independently manage project-level design deliverables. Strong understanding of P&IDs, mechanical fabrication, sheet metal, weldments, tubing and instrumentation systems, and component integration. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFM/DFA principles. Ability to develop designs that meet performance, safety, serviceability, cost, and customer requirements.
