Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer Exyte United States, York, Albany 201 Fuller Road (Show on map) Aug 25, 2026 Discover your exciting role The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer participates in a collaborative team environment consisting of engineers and designers to develop construction documents and provide engineering support for HVAC wet and dry systems, plumbing, process piping, controls, and related mechanical systems. This role is responsible for leading complex engineering projects, providing technical direction and mentorship to project teams, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet client, project, and business objectives. The Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer serves as a subject matter expert throughout all phases of project execution, from conceptual design through construction support and project completion. Explore your tasks and responsibilities Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities Prepares mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection Plans and schedules discipline deliverables and activities including man-hour estimation, assigning personnel, and supervision of discipline personnel on the Projects Develops manpower and labor cost requirements for a project and monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule and budget Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by discipline team Develops of conceptual design, preliminary design and final design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, general arrangements and sequences of operation associated with these systems Works closely in coordination with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines' inputs are incorporated Works to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships both internal and external Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements Other duties as assigned Show your expertise Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required Professional Engineer (PE) License required Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred 10+ years of experience Good time management skills, strong work ethic and attention to details Individual must possess strong communication and organizational skills Strong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, department leads, and client representatives Energetic and self-motivated Works to build and maintain positive and productive working relationships both internal and external Thorough knowledge of codes and common industry standards related to the design of industrial and manufacturing facilities and systems Working knowledge of Microsoft products Ability to mentor and train junior staff Advanced Technology experience preferred Experience with Autodesk Building Systems Software Consulting engineering experience preferred Experience working within a team environment Experience in the quality control review process Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
