Join Motivair by Schneider Electric as a Mechanical Engineer in Buffalo, NY, and contribute your expertise to enhancing the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of industry-leading data center cooling solutions The Mechanical Engineer for the Sustaining Engineering team will support, improve, and maintain the mechanical aspects of existing products, systems, and tooling for Motivair by Schneider Electric's data center cooling products. The role involves maintaining, upgrading, and continuously supporting the mechanical design and specification aspects of the Motivair product line. The role also involves using mechanical engineering expertise to support the service team with customer issues, support queries from production, and troubleshoot field issues. This role requires strong technical judgment, deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, and the ability to apply best industry practices to mechanical designs. What will you do? Lead mechanical design activities for sustainment of products, equipment, and test systems. Create, update, and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed mechanical drawings. Analyze existing designs and optimize manufacturability, cost, serviceability, and ease of assembly. Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure accurate configuration control. Work with sheet metal vendors and fabrication shops; design with a strong understanding of sheet metal principles, tolerances, stack-ups, and fabrication processes. Interpret and update P&IDs, and system-level documentation. Prepare all documentation necessary for production and customer support (proposals, quotes, drawings, manuals, technical instructions, etc.). Work with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features and capabilities, and investigate sources of special equipment, materials, or devices. Maintain accurate BOMs, revision control, and adherence to internal engineering standards. Own and execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Improve product reliability and manufacturability through Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical changes. Ensure compliance with relevant safety, performance, quality, and internal standards. (External)

USD 101,600
