Position Summary The Process and Equipment Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving the manufacturing technologies, equipment, processes, and documentation used in the assembly and inspection of electronic products. This position works closely with Mechanical Design Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure efficient, repeatable, and compliant manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain manufacturing processes and equipment for assembling advanced electronic components, sub-assemblies, and systems. Support new product development including process development, work instructions, tooling requirements, and operator training. Design and execute experiments to optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and increase yield. Program and optimize machine vision systems, component placement parameters, and process settings for automated assembly equipment. Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs Lead continuous improvement initiatives and participate in root cause and failure analysis activities. Ensure all processes and equipment adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards, conducting risk assessments and developing contingency plans as necessary
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, or related field. Experience with one or more of the following manufacturing technologies is preferred; however, training will be provided to a motivated candidate: Solder reflow equipment: Belt furnaces, vacuum reflow systems Wirebonding equipment: Automatic gold and aluminum wirebonders, manual wirebonders, wire pull testing. Pick and place: Automated die, wafer, and component systems, manual equipment Liquid dispensing: Automated dispensing systems, conductive die attach, encapsulation, potting
Welding:
Automated seam welding, projection welding
Inspection:
SEM/ EDS, XRF, X-ray, C-SAM, digital microscopy, optical measurement systems, CMM Strong interest in aerospace, defense, electromechanical, or high-reliability product design Comfortable building, assembling, and troubleshooting physical products and prototypes by hand Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD Travel less than 10% >2+ years industry experience Military or technical service background Additional Information This is an on-site position due to the hands-on nature of prototype and product development work. This position requires access to technology, material, software, or hardware that is controlled by U.S. export laws.
